Thees guys are rallying on very bad news which indicates they are likely bottomed - the  market has discounted the bad news. I don&#039;t know when these short positions were recommended but it sounds fairly recent - ie this year. You don&#039;t go short on something when headlines are already shouting the end of the world for the sector.  Thats when you look to enter a long position. Shoulda been touting these short positions 12-18 months ago when everybody was sure the worst was over. Pretty basic mistake!</description>
